Default PIM Synchronization

Have a new user who is set up on our BES, I am the Blackberry Support person in my office as I am the only Tech that is not afraid to touch a BB. I received two new BB's to configure and Enterprise Activate. One worked fine and the other one freezes at Activating (user's email).... The device's phone and data service is fine. I have verified with the carrier that the Enterprise Data Service has been pushed to the device.

The information on the scenario is as follows
Device: 8830WE (Sprint)
Device OS: 4.5.0.127
BES version: 4.1

Here is what I have done so far to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Battery Pull
2. Re-Provisioned device
3. removed, readded user on the BES
4. removed, wiped, re-added user to the BES, reset EA Password.
5. Called our Sprint Rep and she connected me with Sprint's Blackberry Tech Support only for them to ask me to repeat the steps I just mentioned. I did so, they transferred me to RIM who asked me to do the same thing. They gave me a ticket number and basically told me to pound sand.

Through some research I found that if you hold down alt+cnfg you should be able to enable the wireless synchronization.

When I do it, I get an error that states that the PIM Synchronization is not enabled on this device. I then go into the contacts to enable wireless synch and it's not even an option to change.

Any thoughts on this? The issue does not seem to be hardware related so where do I go next?

Thanks in advance and have a good day!

Have you tried to activate the BB on any other email account, besides the one you're having issues with? Is the activation email from RIM getting stopped by any spam filtering for that user, or any rule in their Outlook or server side rule on Exchange?

Worst case scenario; hook up the BB to the BES and assign the device from the Users screen. Right-click the user for the option.

Are your trying wireless activation? if so try connecting directly to the server by USB and directly activate from the server.

I have had similer issues with wireless activation esp on 8350i's, I wipe it to factory defaults and activate it directly off the server.

I was eventually able to get it taken care of. I tried to get it set up on my own account and it still would not go through. I tried everything EXCEPT installing another OS on the device. I went from 4.2.2.176 to 4.5.0.135 and once it installed, I re-provisioned and then attempted to Enterprise Activate the device directly off the server and it immediately error'd out saying to contact the Sys Adm. I removed blew the user's account and then re-added it. I tried again and all is well now. Is it a possibility that something in the OS could have been corrupt? Either way, it's fixed now and I am uber happy!
