Default In need of serious help - BES Express installation and activation

Ok,
First, I am the Systems Admin in our office. A few months ago I had our external IT support person set-up blackberry enterprise express. I got my new blackberry today (never have activated a blackberry on our network as of now). So, I get my blackberry, go into the blackberry manager on the server, then click the send activation password and no email goes out.

I tried to do the enterprise activation from the phone, entered the email and password and get a connection error.

Any help, anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a BES plan on your 'berry? If not then you won't be able to activate it "over the air", you will need to connect the berry via USB to a machine inside your network.

Are you enabled as a BB user when you look at your account in the BB Admin service? Is there an "enable as BB user" choice when you look at your account settings?

If enterprise activation is showing on his phone, he is either on a BES plan or not yet on any plan.

If you are on BES you have to activate with password AND enterprise activation, the two are linked and form wireless activation.

My main issue is that there are a lot of dodgy BESX SRPs around at the moment that won't work at all over the mobile network, so, do a bit of digging first.
