I've been trying to figure out the whole "Message State Database Size" setting for awhile now and still really don't understand things beyond the very basics.

What I do understand is this feature will track hard deletes per user up to the number of messages specified as high as 1000. Fine.

What I'm not finding any info on is what's actually happening when I set this to '0' because my hard deletes are still being taken care of. If it still takes care of hard deletes, what's the point of "tracking" these items?

Any Uber-BES'ers out there that truly understand this capability? Tnx.
