Mass PIN message without BES
All,
Our company encountered an issue the other day when our Blackberry Enterprise Server v5.0 was not operational due to our ESX virtual environment. Since then, we have gotten our server back online and found out it was not BES-related.
However, it brought up a situation I had never thought of. The server was not operational about 10pm at night and went un-noticed until around 5am then next morning. Even after that, it took almost 4 hours to get the BES back online. Therefore, it was almost 11 hours of downtime for our users.
Many of our users travel and are dependent on their Blackberry for e-mail communication. I was wondering, should an event occur in the future, how can I mass PIN message all our users if I had their PIN numbers handle? Is there a utility I can just export the users' PIN into to send a mass PIN message to let our users know we are experiencing some difficulties?
I know you can do this inside of BES, but with the server down -- it was a problem. I am currently looking into setting up a STANDBY server in the near future, but would also like to know about this mass PIN solution.
Thank you for any assistance.
