This is getting stranger. Tried a second install on Windows 2003 Server and again I'm unable to logon to the web interface. Running netstat -a -b -n shows no process listening on port 443 and yet install finished without error. Apache is no listed in running services. No idea idea what's going on, bit of a mess tbh

I too got the same issue.

Built the BES 5.0.1 server from scratch on a brand new Win2003 VMWare server, the installation went fine but I can't log onto the webconsole as it states that the user name and password is not correct, which I know I am typying it correctly.

any ideas?

Just to make sure, are you choosing the correct method of logging in? If it is a fresh install, you only have the account you created when installing, and you need to make sure you have BlackBerry Administration Service selected in the Log in using box.

When we first reboot our BES, it takes several minutes after the server is up and running before we can finally login to the BAS. It's usually right about at that panic point where we're ready to bounce it again, etc. and then it will finally respond.

Are all of the BES sevices running under the besadmin account?

Could it be a port problem? By default (or at least on my BESX install, for which I believe I took the defaults), BAS connects over port 3443, if you aren't passing that port through then it wouldn't connect.
