Issues with IT Policy updates
I updated our IT policy yesterday with the following: - Disable Mass Storage Mode
- Content Protection Strength=Strong
- Desktop Backup=No Databases
- Device passwords must be min 8 characters and <=45 days old
- Password history=15
Of about 60 users, I had three Curve 2/OS 5.0 owners report repeated reboot problems (i.e., repeatedly cycled through the BlackBerry boot screen, but never actually booted); one of those devices seems to have corrected itself. I had one 8330/OS 4.5 user report "my emails aren't coming up completely (material is missing) and whenever my phone is locked and someone I know calls, I can't see the person's name on the screen".
Anyone know why the changes would have caused any of that? The IT policy prior to yesterday required that users use an unlock password that was min 5 characters/<=120 days old and device reset after 10 incorrect password (also in yesterday's policy). I am at a loss how making seemingly minor changes to our policy would wreck an entire device.
The devices that kept rebooting were replaced by Verizon under warranty. Is there some troubleshooting that I could have done first?
We have BES 4.1
