Default Installed BESx for 2 users, talk about overkill

First of all, I screwed up the install twice by not specifying a blackberry administration service password during setup. I got it installed and couldn't login, decided to remove it, put it on a different server, got the same problem. However they have it, during install, it is just not obvious that it won't simply work with AD credentials.

So I get it installed, add the users, create an activation password. Tell someone to activate, and he tries, says it is taking forever. I guess I will find out tomorrow if it worked. I don't think so, I went in to see if his PIN showed up to know if it found it or not.

I am not digging this web interface at all, older versions of bes and bps were so much simpler and intuitive. This thing wants you to search for users, which I guess would be nice if you have over 200 or something, but otherwise is just overkill.

Should I be expecting activation problems tomorrow with 2 Bold 9000's with recent software on them? I am sure I got all of the fun AD permissions "Send AS" etc configured correctly, as I have installed BES several times before.

I guess this is just a rant, but maybe I can gain something insightful from your comments.

Default

It will work with AD credentials, but there are some possible issues, especially if it's a mixed environment with 2003 and 2008 domain controllers. When I installed, I couldn't use my credentials unless I use DES for my authentication until we're able to raise the domains functional level.

I'm not as familiar with the BESx side, but if it still sends a etp message to the users mailbox, make sure that its actually getting there, not blocked as spam.
