Default install all services on 1 server?

My current environment is SQL Server Express on a Windows 2003 server running BES 4.1.5.2.6 and running Domino with about just under 300 users.

I'm planning on Building a separate server, Windows Server 2008 with BES 5 sp2, and SQL server 2008 express.

With less than 300 blackberry users, can I install all the Blackberry Enterprise Server components on one computer?

Any assistance or suggestions, much appreciated!

It should work as long as you get beefy enough hardware. My server is a 3Ghz P4 with 786 MB and it runs Domino 8.5, W2K3, all the BPS stuff and is also the mail server. Admittedly this is just for 2 people, but I'm pretty sure that as long as you aren't using that box as a mail server and get lots of RAM and a dual or quad core box it'll be just fine.

We have the full BES 5.0.2 server all installed on a 2003, 3.4 GHz Xeon, 2 GB ram, 67.8 GB hard drive server. It's running Domino 8.5 as required, but is not the primary mail server. We have the database on a seperate SQL 2005 server. We have ~35 Blackberry users, but I believe you can have over a thousand and not need to separate components (don't quote me, check the manuals for accurate information). They do recommend you don't install the full BES on your primary/only mail server. Other than that, I'd say you'd be good.

I recently upgrade my organization's BES environment from BES 4.1.7 with Exchange 2003 to BES 5.0.1. I just purchased a single new server with 3GHz quad core with 10GB of RAM running Server 2003 Ent 32-bit. All of the services are currently running on this server along with SQL 2005 Expresss SP1. Everything is running quite smoothly, minimal user issues and happy upper management.

We have our BESX instance running on the same server as Exchange (Hub Transport, Mail, and Client Access Roles).

Granted, we have a pretty small deployment with 100 or so exchange users and only about 20 BESX users, but it runs very well.

Server Specs (a little over 2 years old now):
Dual Quad Core Intel Xeon Processors (1.86GHz)
8GB of RAM
4 x 250GB Drives (OS and Application)
4 x 1TB Drives (Database, User Info, Etc)
Windows Server 2008 SP2
Exchange 2010
BES Express

Even with SQL Express if you're getting much DB activity I'd be moving it to another server itself. I don't know about Lotus but SQL when moved to another server sped things up. The only thing on that server was Sharepoint.
