Exclamation I may have been hacked

I frequent a site on my Blackberry to pass the time at work. Over the past few months I have been getting banned due to posts being made from my phones I.P. address. These posts occure at times when I am not using my phone, like when sleeping. This all started when I reported someone on the site for posting improper material.

Can my I.P. be utilized through some other means?

Could there be some sort of cookie, or outside program on my phone allowing someone to use my I.P.?

Is there some way to prevent this from happining?

I take it that you are using the 9530 as stated in your profile? And as a result, am not connecting through a wifi network because you don't have the radios for it??

What applications have you downloaded?

The more likely problem is that someone is spoofing their IP address and making it look as though they are using yours. Not sure how to find that but that's where I'd look.

Websites use TCP, which cannot be spoofed because it requires a full connection, not a half connection to transmit data.

UDP can be spoofed because it allows data to be transmitted without a full handshake.

are you using wifi or cell connection to surf that website? If it is cell then I suspect IP being shared and nothing is wrong with it.

I'm using a cell connection. I haven't used Wi-Fi since I got the phone simply because it isn't much faster.

So' if someone is "Sharing" my I.P. how do I stop them?

I went to the website again today only to find I was once again banned from it do to the other person creating a Proxy issue on the site.

I'm about ready to throw my Blackberry in the ocean and be done with it.

you can't stop them, the IPs arent static, they'll most likely be DHCP, you'll have to wait for the address to refresh, could be days or weeks or even longer depending on what the broadcasters have set
