Default How many devices do you support?

I'm curious about what size organizations the BES Admins here represent. At what stage does a company / organization have to devote resources to a dedicated admin?

What other tasks are normally performed by the experts who run Blackberry services at large organizations?

Its depend upon the criticality of BlackBerry in your organazation.
Below are the tasks that BESAdmin are perfomred.
1. Daily backup of BES.
2. Monitoring of the BES.
3. Applying new released MR and SP patches to BES.
4. Managing IT Poicies.
5. Day to day users and server related issues.

We have 31 BlackBerries. No where near enough to be a dedicated BES Admin. It's just part of my many other responsibilities. It's actually a fairly low priority to me as it basically just works.

I have 200 users and we are no where near needing a full time BES Admin (or to switch my duties soley to BB).

Like murialita, ours pretty much works.

So I would assume you have (or are) a full time BES Admin?

under 30, but 2010 sees my company moving to a whopping 50-75.

Honestly, the BES software just works. I've had to look things up in logs from time to time, upgrade the software from time to time, but at no point does it require to be babysat IMO.

I am the primary point of contact for support on over 1500 Blackberries on two BES. Eventually, 80 percent of our end users will have Blackberries. The primary use for them will be to tether with on their laptops. I work in the background investigations field. I am not technically a Blackberry Admin but do all the work that an Admin does. A little bit of Desktop Support work is mixed in there as well.
