Default How do I access shared network folder?

I have a Storm 2 with OS 5 and am using the "Files" application to try and access a shared folder on our network. When I enter the address it asks me for my user name, domain, and password and it seems to get me in.

The next screen shows the network address at the top left corner, then the "Find" prompt on the next line, and the rest of the screen is blank. I would have expected a list of files to be displayed.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Does it appear to you that I have successfully logged in? Are there other settings I should be looking at on my device?

Thanks

There should be a list of files or folders on the screen. It can take a bit to show up. Some things you may want to check:

1. Are you using BES 5.0? Both the BES and the Berry need to be at 5.0.
2. Did you type the address of the network share correctly? Mine follows this format: //server name/sharename/
3. Did you type the username, domain, and password correctly? Remember to press alt if you need to type a number.
4. Does the username you entered have access to the network share?
5. Are there actually files there?

Some of these may seem like simple things, but often it's the simple things that get you.

Thanks for the tips murialita. You're so right about the simple things!

Of all that you list the only thing I'm not sure about is the BES version. Also, may not have an affect but the share name is correctly spelled but not capitalized as it is on my PC. I'll try that.

Just an update to my previous post. It took a bit of time but the folders eventually appeared. Patience is definitely a virtue in this case.

One thing I noticed, on some shares BESAdmin had to be added to the security tab. We have certain shares that are a home directory for users. So regular Domain Users dont have access to them. Only that particular user and domain admins. I could map to it just fine but it was always blank. Then I added BESAdmin as a user with read Privileges and reconnected and it came through.Even when I used my login info to my folder it let me in but didnt show me anything.

Just me?

Interesting...

I haven't done more tests yet because I'm in California right now and I'm based in Montreal Canada and I don't want to incur huge roaming costs.

I'll try it out some more when I get home next week.
