Default Force reload of Address Book

When I activated my new Curve 8530 with my BES 5.0 server, I ended up with a bunch of duplicate contacts. After some searching I found the reason to be that I had a subfolder on my Outlook contact list with these duplicates in it.

I went throught the posted fix, KB04227, on Blackberry knowledge base to try and fix my problem.

After reenabling wireless sync on my address book, I assumed it would repopulate sans the duplicates. This didn't happen and my address book stayed blank.

So I did somemore research and found out about the "RSET" command which will clear your address book and request a new one from BES. Sounds like exactly what I needed. Well, this hasn't repopulated my address book either.

I did read somewhere that RSET can take up to four hours to sync. Anyone know if this is true and if there is a way to speed it up?

If all else fails I guess I'll just wipe my phone and reactivate with the BES.

FYI, I am the BES administrator so can perform any functions on the server should any need to be done.

Thanks for the help.

Just an FYI, I never found a way to force the reload, but after a few hours the info did load from the server.

After doing the RSET command, go into Options->Advanced Options-> Service Books and delete the Desktop {SYNC} file. Go to THE BAS and Resend the Service Books to the device. It may take a few minutes to start, but not 4 hours. You should see activity under the Enterprise Activation window once it gets going.
