I've always loved Crackberry for all the great feedback and ideas - I figured I'd see if your experience and knowledge could help make my life as BES Admin a little easier!
Based on a citywide policy, we will be forcing passwords to be set on all our BlackBerry Tour devices and enforcing it using BES policy.
One thing that I've noticed while trying to develop the policy is that there are several users who will have difficulty when it's time to enter the password due to the case sensitivity. We've had one user that we've been using as a test and he will set his password, and continually receiving "incorrect password" each time he tries to unlock it - my guess is he keeps his finger on the letters too long and one or more letter becomes capitalized.
I've had him adjust his key rate on the device, and it doesn't seem to help. I'm just afraid once we start deploying this, I'll have tons of users calling to say their passwords aren't being accepted because of how they're typing. Since this is a government agency with 24/7 emergency response, that's not a good thing.
My question is this - is there a simpler way to have a user enter in the password so that the letters cannot be automatically capitalized? Also, is there a way to view the password that you're setting initially, and can you see what you're typing from the first attempt (I know after the fifth try you will visually see what you're typing). OK, so that's three questions
Any other feedback that could help this deployment would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
