Question Desktop Manager and Wirless BES Sync

I've been trying to get the corp i am working for to abandon Desktop Manager installations (soon it will be web based only anyways) since our BB's sync everything wirelessly.

It seems to me that the computer images can have the BB drivers installed so that when a BB is connected the first time, drivers are automatically found, without the Desktop Manager.

Is there a reason to run DM and wireless sync environment side-by-side. We generally don't support third party app installations or end-user OS upgrades.

Thank you for your advice in advance.

At our company we just load the drivers into the image for the standard devices we use. No desktop manager. It is not necessary at all. We are doing a mass upgrade to the 8900 Curve and I am taking the USB cable out of all the boxes.

We give the users the choice of installing it or not. A reason you may want to keep it around is to have the users do regular backups incase they break their phone. I don't know if this functionality is in the web version of DM since we don't use it.
