Default Deploy Apps from BES

We are running BES 4.1.6 on Server 2003. I have the BES setup to deploy an in house app that we develop and everything works great.

Now we have an update to that app that we want to push out. Do I just overwrite the existing app with the new one and it automatically pushes it out or do I have to remove the old on first and deploy the new one?

Any help with this would be awesome.

Thanks

Default

All the documentation I've read on the subject states that you should leave the old copy available to the BES, upload the new copy, then set the old version to "Disallowed" and set the new version to "Required" in that respective Software Configuration.
