Default deleting user on bes 5

when you delete a user on bes 5. it gives you 2 options:

1. yes - delete this user
2. yes - delete the user and remove the blackberry information from the user's mail system.

what is the difference between the 2? also what kind of blackberry information is #2 talking about? thanks in advance.

I can't say for sure but my reading of option 1 is "This guy no longer works for us" and option 2 is "This guy no longer works for us and he took his Blackberry with him"

This is how i see it and correct me if im wrong.
You can use either or, i use the second one as it removes the link between the bes and the user's mailbox. If they are going to be re-added to the bes then it keeps all data such as the read/unread items etc.
I always use #2 anyway as all the users have their emails on outlook aswell and i like a thorough job when getting rid of shiz

Option 1 or 2 only affects information on the BES itself. Option 1 will leave all of the personal information that was collected from the phone on the BES. It will remove the user but continue to store things like option settings and such. I guess this is for if the person does need to be re-added at a future date. I personally don't see a reason for this option. Option 2 will remove all information about the user from the BES including everything discussed above. If the user needs to be re-added at a later date, all settings will need to be redone again on the new device.

Neither of these options will actually touch the phone however. All email / contacts / calendar entries will be preserved on the phone. The phone owner won't be able to add entries back to the BES because you removed him/her from it.

If you want to remove all the business information from a phone, you need to wipe the phone. If you are using the latest version of BES (5.0.2 or 5.0.3 I believe), you can wipe out only the business information while preserving the personal email / contacts / calendar (BIS) entries, or you can wipe the entire phone back to factory. You must do this wipe however before you delete the user or you have lost your contact with the device forever (or until it activates again).
