One simple way would be to merge the two lists, then use Categories and Filters to control which list is seen.

If your using BES 5, customer should be able to sync more than one contact lists, they will appear combined on the device but seperate in Outlook.

Well, we are actually migrating to 5.0 as soon as I can get everything configured and tested. We are migrating from 4.1.6. Is it possible to do this on 4.1.6 or only 5?

Just one book 4.1.x

They introduce multiple contact list's with 5.0.x but take your time and learn BES 5 as the admin interface is totally different don't go rushing in just for multiple address books sync. The admin interface in 5.0 is better, as it's web based which mean's you don't have to remote into the server.

Based on what you said, I assume this capability is only available in version 5. No, we aren't rushing to upgrade just because of this issue. We have been working on migrating and this came up in the process. Yes, the interface is totally different, and I just stepped in a couple months ago taking over the admin duties on the older server, so while the new one is totally different, I am not married to the older one, either. Thanks for your help. : )

I assume you may not be able to on a pre 5.x BES. On 5.x BES's you can manually select the specific contact folder for the particular user. I didn't see this on pre 5.x BES's.

In 4.1, it's in the properties of the user, which is typically only accessable by the admin, I usually have my users create a "BlackBerry" or "BlackBerry Contacts" folder in their email address book and I sync that.

It's nice in the Web desktop manager in BES 5 that the user's can select their own contact folder to sync, nice feature.

It's funny, the most highly envious feature that my BES users have is their sync'ed contacts, all my non-blackberry mobile users wish they had such and that it worked as well as BES does. My iphone users freak out over the idea of lost contacts, my BB users don't give it a second thought.
