Smile Changing Carriers

I have relocated to China. I have 8900 (U/L) Everythings works fine whenever I use the work provided Telstra (Australia) SIM card. (It roams on China mobile) But as soon as I switch over to my China Mobile SIM (to cut the global roaming cost), emails stopped working. Local service provider confirmed that BES data plan is activated for the SIM card. But still no email. Phone / SMS etc all OK. Cant browse internet. If the SIM card is used in a regular phone..Nokia etc,,can browse the internet.

IT in AUS removed me from BES and added back again, Wiped handheld etc.
Enterprise Activation completed using Desktop Manager. Receive msg to say that BB has been registered on the wireless network

Is there anything we need to do when swapping SIM card. Please help..

What have we missed ? Cant send or receive email etc ?

In service status under mobile options, are you seeing "BlackBerry Enterprise Server" with a connection to the "mobile network"?

I would suspect that the China Mobile doesn't really know what full BES device data is and your temp sim is only provisioned with regular BlackBerry data service.

If you have the China Mobile sim in, go to options, advanced options, host table and select "register now" and THEN you receive the msg that your device has been registered on the wirless network then check your service status, I suspect that you are not getting a "Enterprise server" connection and instead you are getting only voice and normal BIS data service rather than both BOTH BIS & BES.

It wouldn't be the first time that a wireless provider didn't know the difference between BIS and BES data service.

Good news, I hear that RIM is ramping up sales in China so perhaps it will get better ?!?!?!
