Default Can I use BIS for OWA? (BES using company)

Can I use my OWA account using BIS on my BB?

My company uses BES, but if I use that, I get a very strict policy. I wont be able to install apps, etc.

We use OWA (exchange 2003) behind an ISA. I know collegues with Windows mobile devices using their accounts (activesync?)

So I want to use BIS. Is this possible?

And if it is, do I have basic mail/calander functionality?

Thanks.

I read somewhere (haven't tried) that if your OWA site has "CookieAuth.dll" in its URL, you may not be able to use BIS for that. Your company security policy may also not allow BIS access to OWA since your credential are stored on the BB site.

In my case (similar problem to you), I got the BB Desktop Redirector working fine (and IT agreeing with it as the messages are sent encrypted). All you need is a Windows PC that's on all the time (or when you need the messages to be forwarded). It has some drawbacks like not forwarding attachments but it's OK for me.

You should be able to use OWA and BIS. My company has a BES and I am able to use OWA/BIS to receive emails. However, I cannot send emails with that account.

With BIS, you only get email OTA. No calendar, contact, tasks, or memo sync. You should be able to sync the other with DM though.
