Default Can BPS support newer OS's?

Our organization run BPS for the handful of BB Bold 9000 users that we have. In the past, I have always been able to upgrade my OS with no problems with either beta or offical releases, and i was most recently on 4.6.0.304. I attempted to upgrade my BB 9000 to OS 5.0.0.464 and whereas the OS worked fine, it no longer saw the BES or was activated in any manner, so I could not receive/send any emails, etc. I requested the admin resend service books, but no change what so ever. I downgraded back to 4.6.0.304 and it took off like a champ and runs great once again. How should a user like me upgrade to OS 5.0 if I would like to? Will BPS support devices running OS 5.0 (like the 9700, etc.)? Any info would be appreciated.

You should be OK with the new OS's and BPS. How did you do your OS upgrade? If you didn't do it through the DM and your DM 'connected' to your email server then you would need to do the Enterprise Activation again. Every time I do an OS upgrade on my phone I do it without being connected to my mail server. As a result, when I'm finished, I need to do the Enterprise Activation again. Sending service books again won't do squat unless your phone is communicating with the server.

Default Never used DM before to upgrade OS, so ....

Thanks for the reply and feedback. In the past, I have just downloaded a new OS, executed it, deleted the vendor.xml file and ran the loader.exe file that was in the directory. In all of my previous attempts, once the OS initialized, it would automatically connect with BES and then it woould restore all contacts and all other databases that were backed up. This time, I had downloaded OS 5.0.0.464 and it didn't ever connect to BES. As a matter of fact, we could never get it to work at all. On BES, it showed that it was connected but obviously no communications were going on. I completely wiped the device and re-installed OS 4.6.0.304 from scratch and ran the loader.exe file again and bingo-bango it connected with BES and restored everything. So I am confused somewhat since I have never used DM for any of my upgrads in the past.

I don't know Turk. I just know that when I do any type of OS upgrade that when doing so I'm told, though not in so many words, that I'll have to do the Enterprise Activation again. Now, if I do it and my device is able to communicate with my BES and Email server I'm going again no questions asked. It doesn matter if it's a leaked or an official release it behaves the same way.
