Default Blackberry Professional Software help required - activations

Hi,
Can anyone here assist me with activating a BB previously used in BPS by another user?

I removed the original user and said yes when BPS asked me if I wanted to retain the BB information on the server. I then added the replacement user, clicked add device and it found the PIN of the original user. Normally I plug the BB into the USB of the server and let the activation process run by clicking send service book and send IT Policy.

This didn't work so I tried Wireless Activation by generating a password but i'm having trouble with this, the error message is "Activation request failed. a service connection is not available"

I might be doing this wrong though
First I tried the exchange server address (where BPS is installed), then I tried my BPS server address.

I'm using BlackBerry Professional Software 4.1.4.17, installed on my Exchange 2003 server. The BB is an 8520 Curve

I already went through and deleted all the old Desktop Service Book entries hoping that would help but it didn't

Can someone please help me out?

Hi Neill,

I would have said NO to the retain bb info on the server. This would wipe out the database so you can start with a fresh slate.

I'd try this....First, delete the new user you added and don't retain the info in the DB. Secondly, I'd add back the original user and than delete it again when prompted don't keep the BB data in the DB.

Next, I'd ensure that neither of the two users are in the "users pending delete" tab. At that point I'd add the new user. Make sure you wipe the handheld one more time to ensure that your are indeed at a clean slate.

Then activate away.

Cheers, Isaac

Thanks very much, following these steps (re-wiping in particular) seems to have got me past this glitch, will post back when I get 100% success
