Default Blackberry ID

I must beg the patience of seasoned BES Admins, for I've inherited this role in our company via my boss's recent departure, so I'm still learning..

I have a user who lost his Blackberry ID password. I went to the blackberry.net page to recovery it, and he doesn't remember the answer to his recovery question either (he didn't actually create a question, more of a statement). Is there anything I can do about this from the BES side? Do I have to contact Blackberry themselves?

Also, he says he's tried creating a new account on his phone but "it won't let him". I'm guessing his PIN or some other identifier is now tied to the account, and the account is in the cloud (not on our server), so I'm going to have make a phone call. If anybody knows otherwise, I'd greatly appreciate the info..

Is this user on your BES? If so, can you get to the BES Administration Service? Try the "Specify new device password and lock device" button. That seems to be what you need to do.

This is precisely what my instinct saw as a viable long-term solution as well. However, the higher-ups disagree.

Your BES can't affect a Blackberry ID. That's a web service from RIM directly.

That's what I figured. Thanks.
