BESX Activation Error - "unable to retrieve specific device attributes"

New install of BESX on Serv 2008, Exch 2007. Cannot activate device, all other testing of DB, MAPI, Permissions look fine. Tried to cable up to Server and assign device to activate, then this error message is result of wired activation - "The Blackberry Admin Service was unable to retrieve specific device attributes from the device that is connected to your computer". I assumed this was a device issue, however; have competed two "wipes" and still get same error.
Anyone else ever had this issue? If so, can yo help with the fix?

I've got the same problem. BESX on SBS2003/Exchange 2003.
All prep. steps have been completed. Wired activation of course as I'm on BIS.
