BES synchronisation over wifi outside company

Is it possible to sync a BES Device over the wifi outside the office, inside the office it works fine but when i have access to a hot spot or my home network there is no conenction to BES. Is there a setting that i must chaneg on BES. I have create a VIP to my BES SERVER on port 4101.

The device needs to connect to RIM's datacentre as RIM relay messages between the BES server and devices. Normally when this is happening and the device is connected to RIM over WiFi, the WiFI logo is shown in black and white, as opposed to (dimmer) shades of blue. Go into the WiFi settings and have a look at WiFi Diagnostics (switch it to advanced view), this may give an indication of where the problem lies.
