Default BES Express, BBM, Wifi only

I have a Verizon Bold 9650 that no longer has any data or (BIS) Verizon service. I was wondering if I would be able to set up my own BES Express Server at home and use BBM over wifi with my BES Express server.

1) Is this even possible?
2) Would it cost me anything?
3) Does BES Express work without an Exchange server?

Thanks,

1. you need at least an active BIS data plan to activate a device on BESx
2. you would need to buy a license for windows server and either exchange or lotus domino
3. BESx needs either MS Exchange or Lotus Domino
