Default BES to BESX Migrations

We have a few small clients we have on BES, but don't use or need all the features of BES. Has anyone tried a BES to BESX migration? I am guessing we will just need to wipe/reactivate all the phones, but if there was a way to avoid that I think it would be awesome.

Note: I have not installed/tested BESX in any capacity to this point.

Me too. We have been running Blackberry Professional Server. The only feature that I'm interested in with BESX is HTML emails.

Would love to know what people's experiences have been with this and the best way to change the software and anything else I may need to know.

Thanks.

i went from a trial of bes to besx. they say to wipe the phones but i did not have to wipe any of them. just uninstalled the trial, installed besx, set up accounts and all the phones seemed to start communicating right away. it was much easier then i thought it would be.

So, during your trial of BES, you had BES Handsets? if so, what version OS where they running?

I want to do the upgrade to BESX from our BES server to fast-track our Exchange 2010 implementation but with cannot seem to get any definitive info on BES and BIS handsets.

AFAIK, it can support both with the BIS handsets having a few less functions, like the OTA provisioning. Is that your experience??
