Default BES Activitation created new folder in OS 5.0

I have a 9530 set up on BES through my employer. The BES account is the only email account on the device. While the device was running OS 4.7, all of my work emails, SMS messages, voicemail indicators, etc. came into my main "Messages" folder. It was the only inbox folder on the device.

Today, I upgraded to 5.0. After upgrading, IT activated the enterprise account. This added a new inbox described as "Desktop", which appears to be the folder where my work email is primarily going. It has the Messages logo with a small globe at the bottom. I have the option to have those messages also sent to the Messages inbox. SMS, voicemail indicators, etc. go into the Messages inbox.

How can I change back to have only the Messages inbox which incorporates work email and all other incoming messages?

Thanks in advance.

Short answer; you can't as far as I know. You can set the Messages folder so everything is shown in there, and then just either hide the Desktop folder or move it into a folder off the Home screen so you don't have to look at it.

quick and simple answer: just hide the Desktop folder. Everything goes in Messages anyways.

Slightly more complex answer:
This is a feature of the new BES. It's possible to remove the icon, but it's not a per user thing. It's everyone or no one. You can make a change directly in the BES configuration database, not using the Administration website. Then resend the service books. I can't remember of the top of my head exactly what this change is, but I know I posted on here before how to turn ON the icon. You'd just make the change in reverse.

Edit: found it.
in the BESMgmt databse, ServerConfig table, change BESOnlyMessages to 0 to remove the icon from everyone's phone.
