I have a little question...

we are upgrading our BES to version 5.
Someone in the migration team told us that device with OS prior to version 5 wont work on the new bes.. like 8310 with 4.xx os..

is that true?

no it is not true.... u just might not be able to use all the functions of it

Not exactly, the majority of my users are on 8330s with 4.xx OS and all work fine on BES5.

Some features, however, are only available to certain OS levels. Here's a list of the features and if you reference the footnotes you can see the OS required:
