BES 5.01 for Groupwise / Address Book Issue

Using BES 5.01 / MR1 and GW 8.02.

We started rolling this out after testing for a month or so with 5-6 users. All was well.

Now about every 4th BB/user will not sync (initially) with any address books. If I create a blank book, add to sync, and then add a contact on either side, it's fine. I then have user copy contents of book1 and paste to previously blank book2.

Fine... except we use a company-wide shared book and all users need to have that. While I could (and have) created a blank book and copied to it, this shared book is updated when new staff arrives/leaves and I don't want users having to do manual upkeep.

Have been working with RIM on this and they are clueless. Many logs have been uploaded and many GW accounts have been checked all to no avail.

Anyone have an idea?
