BES 5.0 and OS updates
Hi All! So my company has recently made the switch from Treo's to BB Tours on Verizon, much to the joy of the users. We managed to get management to give us money for a full fleged BES 5.0 server. Everything's running great. One of the reasons we wanted the BES server is the ability to push OS updates, rather than having the users bring the phone in and do it for them. Some of them are only in the office once every few months, and have the habit of dropping the phone off 5 minutes before they need to leave and expecting us to update things.
With the recent release of the Sprint OS, I'm sure Verizon's not far behind (and let's not forget OS 5 hopefully soon) I've been trying to learn more about the process of upgrading the OS. I've found the guide on how to push upgrades from the BES server, but even reading it and through many posts, the "experience" is kinda left out. Of course, I'll be testing it out on myself before droping it on the users, but I hate going into things blind. I thought I'd ask anyone who's upgraded OS's on other devices with this method what their experiences are? Is it generally a pain-free process? One big question is after the upgrade is pushed out and the users apply it, do they need to do another Enterprise Activation like if they did it through Desktop Manager? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
