Default BES 5.0.2 (SP2) High Memory Usage

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone out there has upgraded to SP 2 for BES 5.0 on Exchange yet? I applied the new service pack last week and have noticed that my BES server is now using anywhere from 90 -95% of the server's available RAM constantly.

We're running Windows Server 2008 x64 with Exchange 2007. The server as 4 gig of RAM. I know we weren't having these issues prior to the upgrade so something in SP2 is using a ton of memory. When I look in task manager nothing really jumps out right away.

BAS-AS.exe *32 using 548,604k
bmds.exe *32 using 149,368k
CalHelperWS.exe *32 using 93,972k
MsMpEng.exe using 84,672k
BAS-NCC.exe *32 using 81,424k

Those are the top 5 processes. I will say that I do see CalHelpWS.exe has several instances running. I'm not sure if that's normal or not. I do have a case open with Blackberry TSupport so we'll find out what the issue is, but was just wondering if any of you guys out there have upgraded and seen similar issues yet.

Thanks,

Josh

Hi,

have about the same situation with my bes5. I'm still in semi test mode with only 10 users on it. Worked fine for a month. Did the upgrade to sp2 about a week or two ago and now seems to choke on memory. Yet i only given him 2.5 gig (for 10 users seemed enough). But still, seems to react different with memory since sp2.

Hi,

same thing here... The Process I am having an eye on is the Data Collection Service (dcssvc.exe) used by the Monitoring Console... It continously grows from 16MB at start to 1,8GB after 3 Days... BAS-AS is also growing to 600MB...

Any1 having same issue with dcssvc.exe???
BTW I have to start the Collection Service manually because it doesn't come up after a reboot... should it?

Regards

JC

dcssvc.exe comes up after a reboot on my sbs2008 box, so yes it should come up.
my BAS-AS is also growing to 618 mb, dcssvc.exe is 100 mb, but then, I only have three users here with blackberries.

I know this is an older thread, but I noticed it looking for something else.

You might want to take a look at MR1 for SP2. In fixed issues:
BlackBerry Monitoring Service
The BlackBerry Monitoring Service increased its usage of computer memory over 72 hours until the computer stops responding.
(DT 647219)

I just got the email last night about the release, but the site says it was posted on the 31st. Apologies if this is old news.
