Default BB BES Training

Hi,

I have recently been given access to our BES Server (Senior Helpdesk Admin) and have now been given the task of training the rest of the desktop and helpdesk teams. We currently remote onto the server and can have two connections at the same time.

I was looking at including the following items in the training
  • How to remote connect into the BES
  • User Interface and what the options do
  • How to add a user to the BES
  • How to activate a BB
  • How to test by sending PIN or Email to BB
  • How to apply a different Policy to the BB
  • How to remove a user & purge if required
  • How to dicconnect from the BES & why

I was then going to do a bit of basic troubleshooting

For Example
  • Check if GPRS/EDGE is upper or lower case
  • How to do a hard reset of the phone - remove battery
  • Try sending a PIN message to the phone
  • When to resend Service Books from the BES to the phone

If there anything else you think I should be covering as part of standard BES admin training, or is there anything you would recommend I leave out.

Any help or feedback would be much appreciated

Which version of BES are you on? If you are on 5.0, you can access it from any computer on the network as it has a web interface. You might want to go into adding administrative, non-BlackBerry associated accounts, methods of replacing lost, damaged, or defective devices, resetting passwords, and a reference to some sites that list data outages, such as CrackBerry. Other than that, it looks pretty good to me.
