BAS Wireless Device Updates
Hi,
Firstly I apologise if this has been answered before, I have spent the last few days searching and trying to figure it out but been unable to find any simple guides….
As part of my new role in my job I’ve been made partly responsible for blackberry devices, this is something I’m learning quick as had very little experience with it before.
We currently have 49 blackberry devices within our organisation, all bold 9000’s mainly running version 4.6.0.126. I have been tasked with updating all devices to the latest available from Vodafone. The download is available from _ww.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=1141938BA2C2B13F5505D7C424EBAE5F – select Bold 9000 and then latest is version 5.0.0.411.
I want to deploy this wirelessly to devices using the BES webpage admin section. I am totally stuck on how to do this and can’t find any simply how-to guides.
We use BES v5.0. I’ve tried adding a shared network drive (to the location where I installed the above download on my own PC), doing a search within that folder but I get the following error “One or more BlackBerry Device Software bundles were detected for a specific carrier. No devices exist in the system for this carrier. The bundles were not added”
I have also tried the install of the above download onto the server running BES but unsure what to do next, I don’t really understand about creating a blackberry device software configuration & creating a software configuration, and even if they are relevant to what I want to do.
Once the install has completed the software for the handsets can be found in the following location C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000M_v5.0.0.411_P5.2.0.33
I’d really appreciate any help anyone can give…….
