Application Deployment - Creating a separate sware config for different devices

Hi All,

I have a question around why a separate software configuration needs to be created for each device model?

I have successfully created and deployed OTA a software config for my 8310devices on our company BES but am a little perplexed as to why a separate config is required for the other device models.

1. Can I simply create a new software config with a different name and then when I get to the part on adding the config source path simply point this to the same device software or application path? or can I simply use the one software config for each device model?
