Default 20 minute delay in mail delivery from BES

Hi,

I'm seeing about a 20 minute delay in mail delivery from BES for users on a single Exchange server in my environment which contains 4 separate Exchange servers. No other user on any other Exchange server experiences this delay. It is the most heavily utilized server, but it's not really by that much. I've even tried splitting users out into separate agents, but that did not help the issue. The environment in question (all servers are on VM's spread across multiple VM hosts and i-scsi disks):

BES -
Windows 2008 (32-bit)
2x2.8GHz
4GB RAM
BES version 5.0.2.28

Mail Server:
Windows 2008 (64-vbit)
4.2,8GHz
8GB RAM
Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 2

Any direction on where to look to better diagnose this issue are appreciated. Thanks.

Your issue might be something else, but I noticed this on our system when we got a huge backlog of mail (mostly spam) coming into our Barracuda Firewall, and it was in the process of going through all of these before delivering them to the Exchange (and thus BES) server.

I looked at the Barracuda queue and it said there was something like 15 minute delays on inbound messages.

Thanks for your response. I don't think that's it because the messages are making it to Exchange. The users will see them in their mail client 10-20 minutes prior to getting them on their device.

Have you checked if bes is rescanning exchange very often? If there is a network problem between exchange and bes notifications about message arrival will go missing and exchange will perform a full rescan every 15 odd minutes.
