Default Anyone using an 8900 case with their 9700?

I ordered a leather pocket off ebay that was for the 8900. It seems like a lot of sellers are advertising 8900 pouches/pockets/holsters as being compatible with the 9700.

Seller sends me a case marked "8300" and while my 9700 fits in it, the magnet in the case is located too high so what happens is that I slip the 9700 in, it hits the magnet, shuts the device off, but as I continue to slide the phone into the case, the magnet in the pocket moves above the magnet in the phone, turning the phone on again. This obviously defeats one of the purposes of the case.

The seller says that the 8900 is totally compatible with the 8300 case, so there shouldn't be an issue, and that he has sold a lot of these cases to people with 8900s and they worked just fine.

Anyway, I guess I am curious as to how many of you are using pockets/cases/holsters designed for the 8900 with your 9700 and not having any issues? If you guys are using them just fine, and the 8900 is supposed to work in this new pocket of mine, why doesn't my 9700 work, too?

TIA!

Using a Beyza Slimline case for the 8900 and it's a perfect fit. The LED cutout matches perfectly, and the sleeper magnet works as well.

The seller is lying to you. The 9700 is the same size as the 8900 but not the 8300 series. If he doesn't believe you have him check the specs on the BlackBerry website. Btw I am using a BlackBerry OEM 8900 holster on my 9700 and it fits perfect. I also own an 8320 BlackBerry OEM case and the 9700 is way too small for that case. It isn't even close.
