Just wondered how users of this device have been finding the battery life of the 1450mah? I would guess that with moderate use it must be very sturdy, given that the last bold models 9790/9900 had bigger processors and smaller batteries. I had the 9790 for a while and used to get a couple days of moderate use. I'm guessing 9720 can stretch to 3 or even 4 with light use given its slower processor / larger battery ratio?

I'm considering purchasing this phone for my BlackBerry OS7 fix, which I miss!

    Cheers

Battery life is very good even after 10 months . I'm a light user. What chews it up really fast is the browser. If I didn't use the browser I'm sure I could get 2 days out of it.

Ah cheers for that. I'm hoping the battery on this device would harp back to my days with the curve 8900 where I could leave it idle for long periods of time (because I'm a light user) and the battery life would often stretch to 3 or 4 days between charges and I wouldn't have to worry about it dying on me. I'm kinda OCD about battery life and like the 'feel' of a rugged phone which chugs along in standby losing very little juice

Well here's an update since i purchased a 9720. Battery life doesn't seem great so far, but then again as i've just got it i'm probably playing with it a fair bit more than is typical, setting it up etc, doing battery pulls after installing my normal apps and so forth (battery pulls seem to eat a chunk of battery on this device). I have also just updated the software so im assuming a settling in period is taking place.

I have to say that im not hugely confident that the battery life will be solid, given that i have so far had the brightness on 10 and only having network on 2G most of the time, and yet still seeing considerable drain from common tasks such as browser use, facebook/crackberry app etc. This is surprising given the slow processor and lower screen resolution in relation to the 1450mah battery. But time will tell.

Try replacing the battery it shipped with I have noticed with my two 9720's that the battery that comes with the phone is inferior to one bought on say Amazon.

    It guess by about 30%.

That's interesting. Are you saying a battery exactly the same (OEM) bought new, was better than the supplied one?

Yes and my friend agrees with me, he put me on to the fact. I didnt think it would be correct but it was, substantially. Maybe shelf life effects the boxed ones?
