Navigation path problems (U/L themes)

So I've downloaded the latest Plazmic CDK (4.6) and would like to create a custom theme for my 8820. All works well until I start setting up the navigation paths - then I'm stuck with either "Vertical Layout" or "Horizontal Layout".

However, I've seen several themes that allow for custom navigation paths. For example, in the sample theme RiddleRing_480x320 (for the Bold), it is possible to choose which icon gets selected depending on which way you roll the trackball.

Now I know this is possible for themes using 320x240 - I'm using an 'L' theme from Blackberry (Dimension L) that does the same thing. And there are plenty of custom themes out there that allow for more than vertical-only or horizontal-only navigation.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm completely out of luck here....
