    Hi everyone,

This is my first post. I was wondering if people with 8830s will be able to switch over to the new $29.99 plan with VZW. I called today and they stated I was unable to.

I was planning on trying it too, but I haven't yet. I'm waiting until it seems like more CSRs know what's going on with it.

you should be able to unless you are on a b e s plan through a corporate account. if you are then probably not. it is really for personal accounts...

Yep. Just made sure I was off the $44.99 plan. I wasn't and the rep switched me to the $29.99 plans and backdated it to when I got my phone.

What number did you all call? Everytime I call, I get a rep that doesn't know what I'm talking about and swears there's no such plan...

Like with AT&T and T-Mobile, can't you just check / change your package / plan online?

The $29.99 plan is called "Email and Web for Blackberry". I switched a week ago, and like many of you the CSR for Verizon were unaware. Mention to them to input code 76318 and it will bring the information up. Keep in mind this is for BIS only. If you use BES this plan is not for you. You have to keep the $44.95 plan to have unlimited data.

So is that to say that the $29.99 plan doesnt have unlimited data?

no the bis plan has unlimited data (well its actually 5g a month...) but the point is you cannot connect to a B E S server without the 44.95 plan which at one time was the only unlimited plan they had. they also had a 10mb plan for 24.99 Now the have the 29.99 plan which IS unlimited (but only for bis plans not bes...)

    bottom line: corporate user? 44.99
    personal user :29.99
having crackberry.com to ask your bb questions: priceless...

To get what you want you should be on the $59.99 Select Plan with 450 peak minutes, unlimited IN calling, unlimited text/pix/video and a add on feature of $29.99 for "Email and Web for Blackberry". Grand total of $89.98 a month before taxes.

I just got off the phone with a VZW CSR and was told that there was no unlimited data plan for Blackberry for $29.99 BIS users.

He said that the plan was only for 10MB of usage and that on average I go way over that per month.

I followed "daddybear"'s instructions by naming the plan and providing the code of 76318 and was told that
    1) the code was a promotional code and
    2) that particular plan was only for tethering.

After reading what "justreboot" posted, I thought I would give it a shot and call.

    Am I misunderstanding?

I just called and spoke with a Verizon CSR and she told me that the $29.99 data plan was just a special being ran for the release of the Pearl and that the price would be going back up to 44.95 after a short period of time. Has anyone else heard this?
I copied this from a post in the Verizon Wireless discussions. I thought changing to the $29.99 plan would be simple but seems that many people having problems. CSR's giving different excuses or explanations about why they cant get the $29.99 plan. But this post by mthomas1987 had me starting to worry a little bit. Any thoughts on this or should I just consider it another bs explanation from another bs CSR?

I called and they said that I was on a Family Share plan and that they couldn't apply the discount. Is this true?

Sure. The $29.99 a month can be added to a $9.99 price plan.

I switched yesterday by going directly into the store. The first 2 reps didn't know what I was talking about. I asked for the MOD, showed him the there own press release, and he took care of it. I have the family plan as well.
