Vibrate-Incoming Call or Email?
When in Vibrate mode, I can never tell if I'm getting a incoming call or a new email. I basically wait until I feel a third vibration and then I know it's a call.
Is there any way to change the vibration for a phone call to differentiate it from an incoming email vibration?Last edited by Tuba; 11-13-2007 at 02:01 PM.

Thanks for the link but that just allows me to change the number of vibrations between:
- 'buzz'
- 'buzz-buzz' [email] or
- 'buzz-buzz-buzz' [phone call]
I still have to wait for the third 'buzz' before I know my Blackberry is telling me I have phone call instead of a new email message.
If phone calls could be designated by a long 'buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz' or a rapid fire 'bz-bz-bz' then I could tell the difference.
Any way to do that? - 11-13-2007, 10:39 PM #5
I don't think so. But since this thread was made, I just want to add one thing I simply do not understand: Vibrate+tone.
Of all the phones I have owned, this is the only phone that vibrates and then the tone turns on. Wtf?! That's the dumbest idea ever. - 11-14-2007, 01:14 PM #6

Nope. It is what it is. You can not change the length of the vibtration only the amount of times it vibrates.
When in doubt pull the battery out!!!

I Totally DISagree.
I like the feature because I often forget to turn the phone to "quiet" or "vibrate" when going into meetings where it would be rude to have a cell phone ring. That serves as my fail safe. If i feel the vibration, I can quickly remove the phone from the holster and stop it before it rings. This i have set in my "Normal" profile.
I also like the feature when I take the phone off my belt at night, I may not be able to hear the vibration from another room but in a few seconds, I hear the ring.
To each their own. - 11-15-2007, 06:29 AM #11
That is a way I tell it is a phone call, not an email. Especially on this phone where the vibration is not as strong (as it should be),.I found I sometimes do not feel it the first time it vibrates. Counting vibrations may make me miss a call.

Yeah I have to agree with you on this one, I think this is one con that was totally senseless to me. There should have been an option for vibrate and tone together. That way people have choices and if your walking sometimes you can't even feel the vibration on your hip. I guess the vibrate then ring option would work for a lady that carries her bb in her purse. Just my opinion however.
