Upgrading OS but need to keep settings

Hi I just got a Blackberry 8830 WE and I want to upgrade the OS and it is fully flashed to Cricket can I upgrade the OS without losing settings stored or if not how can I access the screen to view my info before the upgrade?

by settings I don't mean apps etc I just want the phone to still work with Cricket after the upgrade.

You should be fine. An OS upgrade won't relock your phone or change your carrier settings.

It is impossible for an OS upgrade to relock your phone. If you had to enter any info in any screen to get your 8830 to work on Cricket, just go back to that screen and copy down the settings. I don't know what that might be. But an OS upgrade should not affect those settings, whatever and wherever they are, in any way.
