 Unlocked VZW 8830 in China
If I unlock my Verizon 8830 and use a China Mobile SIM, will it work in China for voice and data? I realize I would have to have a SIM that supports data. (I will get a new Verizon phone of some kind to replace it for U.S.)
Note: i have used my 8830 many times in China with Verizon's global data plan. It used to cost about $35/month for unlimited data. Today that plan is gone. The new plans offer data at 2 cents/kilobyte - 100 megs of data will cost you $2000 in China (as of January 18, 2011). I don't think the word has gotten around about this. Beware!
