uncaught exception: java.lang.nullpointerException
cant view any txt msg or email....also no call log. help! also phone wont ring...and yes the ringer is on.

Have you tried a hard reset by pulling the battery out, while the device is power on, then reinserting?

yes...many times. at first it started out just randomly telling me that. then it started not letting me check msg of any kind. now its back to random.... not showing call log and not ringing when the ringer is on. =/

How old is the phone? Did you buy it new, used? How much memory is free? What OS version is on it?

For some stange reason people have started to get this more this week than ever. I bet it's a Yahoo software / update that people are doing that's causing this...

Yes it is with RIM, A Wipe HandHeld disables all data services (web browsing, email, etc.) and removes all data (passwords, contacts, etc.) from the device.
Before clearing the handheld, ensure there is a recent backup of the data
A hard reset involves physically removing the battery from the smartphone and then reinserting it.

OK... how do you fix this error? how do I "wipe out" everything? is there a way to back up phone numbers and pics?
