Locking the handheld?

Disable dialing from the home screen in the Phone Options, then use the "K" to lock the keypad.

Hold the Mute/Suspend button on top for a few seconds to suspend the BB.

Use a magnetic holster.

Or if you do not want to disable the dialing form the home screen function...press the alt and enter key at the same time.
