I'm running 4.5.0.51 on my vzn 8830, and have the CNN shortcut installed. I was reading a story on Hurricane Ike and clicked on a video, but after it loaded I got an "unsupported format" error.

I clicked on "open" rather than save. When I saved the vid (which saved in 3gp format) and then played it, the quality wasn't too good, either.

Why have streaming video if you have to save it first? (Mostly that's a rhetorical question)

What setting have I missed to keep the streaming vids from playing?

No streaming video for BB's. It ticks everybody off.

OS 4.5 does support streaming video! We can watch youtube directly
as well as SprintTV. You can try updating to 4.5.0.77 but sometimes
some formats are not recognized, like microsoft movie, I am not sure
why, perhaps just a mime type problem or the media player does not know how to deal with that format.

I have a sprint 8830. Just installed 4.5.0.77 last week. Is there a way to get sprint tv on here? If so, how?

Yes, from your blackberry go to:

    mobitv

and follow the install instructions. You may have to resend your
service books. Also, the SprintTV program is not customized for
BB 8830 so it takes only 2/3 of the sreen but you see the all
screen and watch it. When Sprint comes with it version of 4.5
    this should be fixed.
