I just picked up my 8830 yesterday and love it so far. I'm just having one minor problem. When I have an incoming call or message my phone rings but the screen doesn't light up to show who's calling. I have to click the trackball to see who it is. Is there any way to fix this?

Options / screen & keyboard / automatic backlight - makesure it's on!

Thanks. I just tried that but all it seems to do is dim the backlight overall. Screen still remains black when a call or message comes in.

Nevermind. The screen lights up for incoming calls, just not for incoming emails or texts.

Right, no light for incoming emails or texts, but you will get the flashing RED notification light.
