    Default Reinstalling BB Messenger

    Ok I am so pissed right now - I deleted BB Messenger because it was messing up and I went to reinstall it. But it says my phone won't support messenger HUH!?? I have 4.2 and it says I need 4.0 or 4.1

    Can someone please help me with this?

    And what is up with no mac software for desktop maanager? Mac sync is stupid and doesnt let you download BB apps from the site.

    well you will need a pc to get it back on as far as I know
    you can try updating your os that should help

    My friend has a PC and I used it to use the Desktop Manager (lame) - I updated my OS which was already the most up to date and still no luck ...

    We pay so much for these phones and RIM doesnt have mac software and you're unable to reinstall older apps- such bull

    Sorry - im really pissed

    did you go into app loader and make sure bbm was checked off
    try that post back

    I tried and I get this message:

    "The BB desktop software does not have bb device software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system admin"

    try downgrade using the cd that came with your bb
    thats the last thing I can think of

    The CD only will put 4.2.2 on the phone - thanks anyway

    The message you described in Post #5 just means your friend's PC doesn't have the right OS on it for your device. What OS are you running? The latest official release is 4.2.2.196. You can get that from the BlackBerry site and install it on your friends PC, then install BBM.

    Hi Jeff,

    I installed the desktop software directly onto my friends PC - he never had any previous software installed.

    I have 4.2.2 but it wont let me install BB messenger because it says I need 4.0 or 4.1 - weird ... considering my BB came with Messenger

    when you load from the os from cd the app loader should give you the option for bbm

    The CD doesn't give me that option ...

    I made some progress! I downloaded the updated desktop software from Verizon (my provider) and now I'm able to view apps in the app uploader on the desktop software. I dont see Messenger, but I'll figure it out -

    I wonder if I install Core Apps??

    I've got it!

    I clicked the System app and chose Messenger before I installed - I'm installing now
