I had to turn on the feature to lock the phone when its put in the holster because it would always call people on accident...

Can I still receive calls and texts when the phone is locked?

You can still receive phone calls, but cannot read texts or emails (or access any other application) while the keyboard is locked.

If the device is calling people on accident when in the holster then you don't have the proper holster. With the proper holster the device will go to "sleep" and the keyboard will be disabled.

John is right, I would look for a holster/case with a sleeper magnet.

And yes, you can receive calls while the phone is locked.
