When you go to the browsers configuration there is an option called emulation mode and its on blackberry. My first question is what does that option do? And I see that there is an option to change it to microsoft IE. If I change that option can it make my browser a little more quicker? Because I was using the blackberry browser to search yahoo.com and it seem to take a lot slower to load the pages. Not as fast as opera mini does.

It's not an 'emulation mode.' It identifies itself as 'firefox' or 'internet explorer' to the website. If the website tailors the content based on the browser identification, this setting will have an effect on what you will see rendered. For the most part, it's useless.
