I'm working with a 8830 that all of the ringtones and sounds work great in the media player, but when they are set in the profiles, all of them are very very quiet. The sound is on high and every thing looks normal to me. Since they work perfect in the media player it doesn't seem like a phone/speaker issue. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    ORLY?

Known issue. No fix yet except to boost the volume of said ringtone.

Didn't know that, thank you. 8830 isn't my main phone so I haven't really read up on it.

No problem, it's just that you cannot imagine how many times that question gets asked.

Ehh, don't worry about it. You're just a dog after all. A pretty smart one at that if you can use a BB and a computer. And you can type too.... Had you been a cat, you would have searched first.

Wait, is that really you in the Avatar?

its funny, i have the same problem with mine, and i called verizon tech support today and the tech acted like he had never heard of this problem. anybody else get this reaction? i got them to send me a new one, so when that does the same thing, im hoping i will just get upgraded to a curve, lol.

^^^ Yep, they are living in denial. The phone CSRs and the stores have been told to deny and act surprised when people complain about the ringer volume on the 8830.

I had never heard of it or heard anyone complain about it before either till I looked at that one. I never had any issue with my pearl in that aspect so I just assumed it was an individual thing. Thank goodness I don't have it - that would drive me insane!

I started a new thread about ringer volumes. For anyone that wants their ringer volumes boosted just send me the MP3 file and I'll do it for you.

are you just using audacity or another program? I have audacity on my computer and boosted some of them but they still aren't great...

I'm a DJ, and it's a program that I use to remix/produce music. I don't have audacity so I can't compare, but I did several tones for myself and a few others and they're alot louder. If you boosted them already with audacity, what's wrong with them? Still not loud enough? Distortion? One of the thing's I did is pull a few db's of bass and a little treble out to minimize distortion.

I just boosted the volume all around on them and they still aren't getting loud enough for me to hear well. The phone might be getting replaced with another BB later this week so if I don't get a new one I will certianly hit you up on increasing the volume for me. Thanks!
